Course Technical Information

Training description

This course covers the concept of First Aid, as well as explaining the techniques used by first aiders when providing assistance to a victim of an injury or accident. This activity focuses mainly on two situations: Unconsciousness and Adult Airway Obstruction. Participants will also learn about good practices with regard to the First Aid Box.


General objective

This course aims to raise awareness of the importance of the act of first aid and to provide information on basic life support procedures and the correct attitude of a first aider towards a victim.


Learning objectives: 


The participant should be able to:


  • Understand the concept of First Aid;
  • Realise when and how to help the victim;
  • Know the first steps to take when providing support to the victim;
  • Assimilate the attitude to have when faced with an act of first aid;
  • Be aware of best practices when it comes to the First Aid Box;
  • Understand the essential information to pass on to the medical services about the victim's condition.

Teaching methodology:

This training is based on the expository method, where the topics are presented to the participants using simple language that is understandable to a general target audience that does not necessarily have prior knowledge of the subject. Occasionally, examples and videos will be used to explain specific cases.


Technical requirements

Functional computer equipped with speakers and Internet connection.



Assessment methods:


Assessment will take place summatively at the end of the course in the form of a selection quiz (multiple choice and true or false). To complete the course successfully, the trainee must have a minimum grade of 80%.
