Course Technical Information
Training description:
This course covers the concept of First Aid, as well as explaining the techniques used by first aiders when providing assistance to a victim of an injury or accident. This activity focuses mainly on two situations: Unconsciousness and Adult Airway Obstruction. Participants will also learn about good practices with regard to the First Aid Box.
General objective:
This course aims to raise awareness of the importance of the act of first aid and to provide information on basic life support procedures and the correct attitude of a first aider towards a victim.
Learning objectives:
The participant should be able to:
- Understand the concept of First Aid;
- Realise when and how to help the victim;
- Know the first steps to take when providing support to the victim;
- Assimilate the attitude to have when faced with an act of first aid;
- Be aware of best practices when it comes to the First Aid Box;
- Understand the essential information to pass on to the medical services about the victim's condition.

Teaching methodology:
This training is based on the expository method, where the topics are presented to the participants using simple language that is understandable to a general target audience that does not necessarily have prior knowledge of the subject. Occasionally, examples and videos will be used to explain specific cases.
Technical requirements:
Functional computer equipped with speakers and Internet connection.
Assessment methods:
Assessment will take place summatively at the end of the course in the form of a selection quiz (multiple choice and true or false). To complete the course successfully, the trainee must have a minimum grade of 80%.
